Made Easy Home Page
Welcome to the DEFINITY ® Made Easy technician tool set, designed and organized specifically for your Web browser. The Made Easy tools provide you with task lists and high-level information and then with links to any details that you may need. You can choose what you see, while you can avoid paging through information that you already know.
Downloadable Versions of Made Easy Tools for this issue and older issues of DEFINITY Made Easy Tools (Issue 1--Release 8 and Issue 2.1--Release 9) are available as self-extracting ZIP files.
Navigation buttons at the top and bottom of each page in the tools take you to the table of contents and index for that tool, the previous or next web page in that tool, or to the frequently asked questions (FAQs) and links for all the Made Easy tools. The FAQs and Links buttons open a new browser window for the FAQs and the links.

The DEFINITY Made Easy tools provide task-oriented technician information for DEFINITY systems. This version tells you how to upgrade si systems to Release 10 and how to install new DEFINITY systems in single-carrier cabinets (SCCs) and multi-carrier cabinets (MCCs).
The upgrade information is provided in a checklist format, listing all the tasks in sequence for a particular upgrade. For more detail on a particular step, you click on a link. In addition, there are links to background information such as circuit packs and upgrade processes (for example, who checks vintages in the existing installation before the upgrade visit).
The installation information is organized into major tasks, and then the link for each task provides general information, if it is relevant, and specific steps or task lists. (Complex tasks display their own task lists.) For more detail on a particular step, you click on a link.
- On the Made Easy Home Page, click the link to the kind of information you need to view (upgrades, installation, reference).
- From the page that displays, click the link to select a Task List or to display the specific information you want.
- If you have enough information to do your work, ignore the links on the Web page.
Colored, underlined text indicates Made Easy links. The color of the link may change to indicate that you have already visited the destination. Although link colors are set by the web sites, your browser settings can override them.
The color of the link may change to indicate that you have visited the destination. Made Easy defaults to blue (unvisited) and purple (visited) links, but you may see different colors; your web browser allows you to change how links display.
TOC: The TOC (Table of Contents) button takes you a page of links to all the headings in the tool you are using. You can browse topics like you can browse a table of contents in a book. The TOC button is not active on the home page.
The PREV and NEXT buttons do not move between the pages that you have displayed in your browser; use the browser's Back and Forward buttons to page backward and forward through the pages you have displayed.
LINKS: The LINKS button opens a new browser window that contains links to other websites on the Avaya Technologies corporate intranet that are of interest to technicians. Your computer must be connected behind the Avaya firewall to get to these other websites. Close the browser window when you have finished with the links.
FAQs: The FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) opens a new browser window that contains questions and reference information that support the Made Easy Tools. Use the browser Back button to return from any question to the FAQ list. Close the browser window when you have finished with the FAQs.
To display a list of pages you have previously viewed, click on the down arrow next to the Back or Forward button. To select any of the listed pages, scroll down the list to highlight your choice, and then click on the choice.
