Mutt is a small, powerful, text-based email client.
Mutt was found to contain a possible buffer overflow issue in the method in which it handled long namespaces on malicious IMAP servers. In order to take advantage of this vulnerability, an attacker who setup a malicious IMAP server would have to trick a user into having Mutt connect to said IMAP server, using such methods as a Man in the Middle (MITM) attack or through social engineering. The Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures project (cve.mitre.org) has assigned the name CVE-2006-3242 to this issue.
No Avaya System products are vulnerable, as mutt is not installed by default.

Avaya software-only products operate on general-purpose operating systems. Occasionally vulnerabilities may be discovered in the underlying operating system or applications that come with the operating system. These vulnerabilities often do not impact the software-only product directly but may threaten the integrity of the underlying platform.
